Iron fittings

Irons are where fitting pays for itself. A club that is one degree off in lie angle sends every shot a little left or right.

Lie angle first

We put lie tape on the sole and hit from an impact board. The mark tells us where the club meets the turf. Most players are surprised how much they would gain from a one or two degree change.

Then length and shaft

Wrist-to-floor sets a starting length. From there we compare steel and graphite, light and heavy, until the ball flight and the feel agree. Our bench has roughly forty shaft samples cut to the same length so the comparison is fair.

Gapping the set

We check the distance between every pair of clubs. If your 7-iron and 8-iron fly the same distance, we fix it with loft or by changing a club. You leave with a carry chart you can tape inside the bag.
